How to Weave Wellness Into Your Day with Lauren Berligneri

UPLEVEL is our way of saying: wellness isn’t just what you drink or eat, it’s how you live.

As we move into 2026 and beyond, UPLEVEL reflects a deeper commitment to nourishment in every sense of the word. Not extremes. Not quick fixes. But thoughtful shifts that compound over time and change how you feel,  and how you show up, day after day.

That’s why UPLEVEL brings together Kroma and a small group of trusted wellness partners who share our belief that lasting health is built through consistent, supportive rituals. For the month of January, every 5-Day Reset includes over $100 in free Kroma gifts, meditation and fitness memberships, and access to an online community with expert-led guidance — giving you the tools, structure, and support to carry what you start far beyond five days.

Uplevel in Real Life

Here’s where HigherDOSE comes in.

At its core, HigherDOSE believes the same thing we do: the small things you do every day matter more than the big, once-in-a-while efforts. Their take on infrared, red light, and at-home wellness tools isn’t about hacking your body or pushing harder — it’s about helping your system do what it already knows how to do: recover, regulate, and recharge.

We love HigherDOSE because they make advanced wellness feel realistic. Their tools fit into real life. You don’t need extra time, a complicated routine, or another thing to “keep up with.” You use them, you feel the difference, and you move on with your day.

To show you what that actually looks like, we sat down with HigherDOSE co-founder Lauren Berlingeri to talk about energy, recovery, and the simple rituals she relies on to feel good long-term — no extremes required.

How do you personally structure your day for energy and balance?
I structure my day around when I feel most alive, not around constant availability. Mornings are for me. I wake up slowly, move my body, get natural sunlight, and ease into the day before I ever open my phone. Living in Cape Town for half the year makes this even more sacred. Long, uninterrupted mornings and early afternoons allow me to be fully present, creative, and grounded before the rest of the world comes online. I save communication and emails for later, when I can engage intentionally rather than reactively.

What are your go-to micro-moments or rituals for grounding in the morning?
My morning nervous system ritual is simple and deeply human. I snuggle in bed with my kids. We start the day slow, connected, and calm. That physical closeness regulates my nervous system more than anything else. I don’t look at my phone right away. I let my body and heart wake up first. Mornings are about sunlight, movement, and connection for me. Grounding comes later in the day.

How do you reset during a busy workday? Any short practices you swear by?
Afternoons are when I intentionally reset. Between calls, I take micro-moments to regulate my energy. That might look like a few deep breaths, stepping outside, placing my feet on the earth, or simply choosing to pause instead of pushing through. I’m very conscious of protecting my energy during work hours, so I wear blue-light-blocking glasses when I’m on my computer and take breaks before I feel depleted. These small pauses help me stay clear and present without burning out.

What does your evening recovery routine look like? How do you wind down?
Evenings are reserved for recovery and sleep quality. I stop eating early, around 5:30 pm, and practice a gentle form of fasting, breaking my fast earlier than most. This rhythm has completely transformed my sleep. Red light before bed is a non-negotiable for me. It signals my body that it’s time to soften, repair, and rest. I keep nights calm and predictable so sleep feels effortless rather than forced.

How do these practices influence your mindset or creativity throughout the day?
They create spaciousness. When my mornings are protected and my body feels regulated, my creativity flows naturally. I’m more intuitive, more decisive, and far less reactive. By the time I sit down to work on projects or emails, I’m already resourced. That’s when my best ideas come through. Energy management has become my most powerful productivity tool.

Any tips for someone new to ritual-based self-care?
Start with what feels good, not what looks impressive. Ritual doesn’t need to be long or complicated. It can be a single breath, a pause between meetings, a moment of sunlight, or choosing to eat earlier so you sleep better. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s consistency and self-awareness. When you listen to your body and respond with care, that’s when rituals start to work.

The Takeaway

Upleveling your health isn’t about adding more to your plate. It’s about paying attention to what actually helps you feel better — and doing more of that.

It’s learning how to support your body instead of pushing through it. Knowing when to move, when to rest, and when to give yourself a little more care than usual.

That’s where Kroma and HigherDOSE align. We both believe real change comes from simple, daily rituals that fit into real life. When your body gets regular chances to reset — through nourishment, heat, light, and recovery — things start to shift. Energy feels steadier. Sleep gets better. You feel more like yourself.

That’s what UPLEVEL looks like.
Listening to your body.
Protecting your energy.
And choosing practices you can actually stick with — every day.
